Who are we?

Mercy’s Hope is a 501 (non-profit organization founded by John and Valerie Hays in January of 2007.

What do we do?

We embark on a journey of compassion with Mercy’s Hope as we stand alongside the children of Githunguri, Kenya. Within the walls of one orphanage, we witness the stark realities of poverty that these children confront each day. Yet, through our collective efforts, we strive to illuminate hope in their lives. Together, we raise essential funds to alleviate their immediate struggles – combating hunger and illness while providing hope for a brighter future through education and spiritual counseling.

But our commitment doesn’t end there. With unwavering determination, we’re crafting long-term solutions through sustainable change for these vulnerable communities. Join us in building a brighter tomorrow, where every child in Githunguri can flourish with dignity and opportunity. Together, let’s sow the seeds of hope and resilience.

Why do we do what we do?

The calling to serve the children of Kenya, Africa was born out of the example Jesus Christ gave us all in the scriptures which states:

“Religion that God our Father accepts as faultless is this: to look after the orphans and the widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”  – James 1:27
